On Earth As It Is In Heaven

“On Earth As It Is In Heaven.” Can you believe it is 2020? I believe that in 2020 we are on the verge of the greatest breakthrough of the kingdom of God. I believe that we are on the threshold of the greatest spiritual awakening that humanity has ever seen. I see the Spirit of God moving. I see hearts and minds being changed. I see the impossible happening.

Singing Oaks leadership vision is, “to love God and to love others as Jesus loved.” That is a two pronged vision. But neither is possible humanly. You can’t love God and love others as Jesus loved without the power of the Holy Spirit. Even Jesus couldn’t. “That’s why the vision says, “through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that this decision matures in us as the spirit works through us to make Christ followers.”

It takes God to love God. And it takes God to love others like Jesus. Thus the vision for 2019 was “There is more.” … More than just our own abilities are at work. The Holy Spirit is active in guiding us and drawing us toward Him. We must share our God stories and live out of them. We must rely on the Holy Spirit‘s direction and on his power. Every sermon that I preached last year or will ever preach will proclaim that truth.

So then, what should our vision look like going into 2020? And what should be our prayer? In Mathew 6 Jesus says,

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

That is Jesus’ vision and Jesus’ prayer. His prayer is for God’s power and glory to invade earth. His vision is to create heaven on earth. Our job is to partner with Him in making that dream come true. So, in your world what would heaven on earth look like? What would need to happen? What would you be prepared to do? Have you sought our Father’s guidance? Have you listened for His response? Do you believe that whatever comes He has got you? Do you believe that phrase, “Thine is the Kingdom and the power?”… That He really is in control?

When you do, heaven on earth becomes reality… a reality that grows and expands.
